Foundation "Kiril Vajarov"

Foundation for development and support of children and youth ice hockey in Bulgaria - "Kiril Vajarov" was established on September 8, 2009 in memory of Kiril Vajarov, goalkeeper of the Bulgarian men’s national ice-hockey teaм and Ice hockey club Slavia, who was killed in a particularly cruel way near to the symbol of justice- „The Court of Justice” in Sofia.

The Foundation's objectives are:

• to assist the development of children and youth ice- hockey in Bulgaria.
• To develop the sport and moral qualities to children.
• To implement and promote the new methods of developing the sport and technical skills of the young athletes.
• To provide an opportunity for development and improvement of the young talented players.
• To provide funds and other assistance to athletes who need treatment.

Means of achieving these objectives are:

• organizing of tournament and other sporting competitions
• organizing of thematic trainig camps in and outside the country
• organizing of seminars and lectures by specialists from Bulgaria and abroad for coaches of children’s schools to increase their qualifications
• providing funds for young and talented athletes for their participation in international training camps

To achieve these objectives, the Foundation works closely with the Bulgarian Ice Hockey Federation, the Ministry of Physical Education and Sports and all organizations that want a better future for the children of Bulgaria.

The Foundation’s activities are financed by donations from organizations and individuals.
